Day 1.

Day 1- Favorite Song

Now, I LOVE music so it's really hard for me to pick out my favorite song! I have different songs for different moods and depending on how I'm feeling at the time. But if I had to narrow it down to just one favorite song... probably the song that I could listen to ALL the time, no matter what, would be "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey :) Now, I know this is most likely the favorite song of like EVERYONE but it really is one of my favorite songs and I could listen to it at pretty much anytime!

"Don't Stop Believing" - Journey
Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

(Chorus)
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night.

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(Chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights people

I'm going to try this again...

Major, Ginormous...

...epic fail on my behalf!

Once again... I swore I was going to keep up with my blog... and what happens?! I end up not posting here for like 2 months! oh man...! well nothing too exciting has been going on, just keeping myself busy! (actually - a LOT has happened since the last time I updated on here but its nothing that I need to go into details about!) anywayyyy -- we're now into October and I can't believe 2011 is almost over! its insane! a lot has happened this year, and when I look back at where I was this time last year... wow!

But I believe I'm in a much better place now and I'm having a lot of fun in life and enjoying as much as I can right now! agenda for tonight: we're going to the Topton Halloween Parade, and then going back to Jon's house! so it should be a good night! pretty stoked :)

Day 7.

Day 7 - A Photo That Makes You Happy

This picture makes me REALLY happy because it has some of my best friends in it! and it was taken on a thursday night on our way to Hummels for one of our fantastic girls' nights! :)

Day 6.

Day 6 - Most Treasured Item

I don't really have a treasured item. I have several things that I always have with me... but there are two things I am always wearing. One of them is my celtic knot ring that I wear everyday to commemorate my mom's side of the family, whom are Irish, and I definitely look like that side of my family -- and the other is my necklace from my daddy :) he gave it to me for christmas this past year... it is a heart and on the back is etched "My Daughter, My Heart, My Love"

Day 5.

Oops! I have been totally bust lately and I haven't had time to get this updated with my "30 days" - but I'm going to get myself brought up to date right now :)

Day 5 - Favorite Quote

I swear these get increasingly more difficult because there are a TON of quotes that I love, so I don't know if I can pick just one of them...!
this is definitely something I think everyone should live by! in my 20 years, I have seen a lot of loss and I have learned that it is important to take advantage of the opportunities you get! besides -- who WANTS to be unhappy?! :)

Days 3 & 4.

I didn't get a chance to get on here yesterday so I'm going to do both yesterday and today in one post! it is a good thing that both days are very easy! :)

Day 3 - Favorite Television Show

bahahaha I don't think this question could possibly get any easier! although, again like the first two days I like a lot of different TV shows, my FAVORITE is definitely Family Guy!!

I don't even know WHY this show is my favorite show... it just is! I have seen every single episode and I own all the seasons. a lot of people think its a really stupid show, and to be honest, it is -- but I don't care! haha it makes me not-think! haha :)

Day 4 - Favorite Book

Again... NOT a difficult choice. probably a little more difficult than any of the others because I LOVE to read and I have a lot of books, but there is only one series that I could just read over and over again. and the winner is -- The Twilight Series, by Stephanie Meyer

I have actually read this series about 3 times all the way through! I started reading the first book around my freshman-sophomore year of high school... I think it was around the time the mention of the first movie was... and I was instantly hooked! I just kept reading and was through it in no time! :) I would definitely recommend it for anyone who hasn't already read it (which are probably few and far between!) hahahaha

Day 2 (30 Days of Me)

Day 2 - Favorite Movie

Continuing on to the next part of my 30 days, today is all about my favorite movie! and this is definitely a no-brainer, didn't have to think about this at all -- my favorite movie is: Dirty Dancing.

Now just like music, I love watching movies. I am surely one of those people who will be heading to the movie theater if there is a movie I really wanna see, not sitting at home waiting for it to come out on DVD. so I do have a lot of movies I like, and movies I will watch over and over again, but none have my heart like this movie does :) now, this movie was definitely before my time, but I still love it all the same. there's just something about it! If you have never seen this movie - then shame on you... just kidding :) go out and rent it and watch it and you'll see!

Day 1 (30 Days of Me)

Day 1- Favorite Song

So I am starting this 30 days of Me and day one is your favorite song. Now choosing my favorite song is not an easy task since I LOVE music, and listen to it constantly, AND I listen to music for the meaning of the song -- it is really hard for me to choose! I have numerous songs that I love and listen to a lot but probably my favorite song is "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart (it was a close call between that and "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey! haha)

May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young

May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain
and in my heart you will remain
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young
Forever Young

And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever Young, Forever Young
Forever Young ,Forever Young
Forever Young, Forever Young
For, Forever Young, Forever Young

I'm not really sure what draws me to this song so much, but it is probably the inspiring lyrics. it gives off such a positive atmosphere and makes the person listening to it happy. its pretty much saying "whatever you do, do it with positive thoughts" -- and that everyone is young at heart.

My Passion.

I thought I would share (with ya'll that don't already know) about one of the more important things in my life. Surprising or not, my secret passion is racing!

Some back history -- I grew up watching racing, so it has been there my whole life. when I was little, it was mainly NASCAR... watching the major stock cars race on the TV, and occasionally going to the races themselves. I went to races in Charlotte, NC - Dover, DE - Pocano, PA. and then as I got older, it kind of fell to the waist side because we got too busy to go camping (plus, the regular NASCAR just got way too political... still is actually! ha)

About my sophomore or junior year of high school, family friends of ours started taking me to Grandview Speedway, which is a 1/3 mile dirt track which was only about 20 minutes from my house. We had another friend of the family who raced there who is the same age as I am, Johnny Favinger. and it was love at first... green flag :) and I have been going ever since, 4 years later!

Currently Reading... 1

I've decided I'm going to occasionally do a blog about what I'm currently reading! I have A LOT of books and they are really good, and I'm slowly working my way through them! I always like reading people's reviews of the different books so know if they are even worth reading! haha :) So here we go!

I'm currently reading... a series called "The Hunger Games" -- it is a 3 book series which includes "the Hunger Games", "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay"

I have already read through the first one and it was EXCELLENT! :) It is definitely a book that once you start reading it, its hard to put down! Its about a girl who lives in a time after an uprise in what used to be North America. the country is now broken into 12 districts and the main capitol. as punishment, they have an event every year called "the hunger games" which each district must contribute 2 "tributes" - one girl, one boy. the 24 tributes must battle to the death until there is only one winner left. but things are going to be a little different this year when Katniss Everdeen steps in as the tribute from District 12!

The second book, Catching Fire, is the one I am currently reading! now I'm not going to ruin the surprise of the first book - but I WILL tell you that the second one picks up right from the first one, and Katniss faces all new challenges!

The Beginning.

Well this is definitely the beginning of something new! I made a new blog because my old one, titled "Thoughts of an Airman's Girl" was mainly dedicated to me getting through the years without my boyfriend/fiance - but now that we are no longer together, I wanted to have a fresh start where I can continue on with blogging :)

Well to this day, its been over a month since things ended between Ian and I. the more time goes on, the more I realize things are now for the best! I am getting to spend more time with my friends and family, and not that I didn't when we were together... I just now realize how much my life revolved around him instead of me. But I have been concentrating on me more and that is what matters right now... no one knows what the future will hold!

My most important accomplishment right now is that I am currently down a little over 10 lbs since April and I'm starting to feel better about myself. Yes, its a slow decent but I'm working on it so that I keep it off, not just bounce back! I have started doing zumba and I continue to go to the gym (in my free time... ha!) I'm just really starting to feel like myself again and that makes me happy... along with my friends and family ;)
