My Passion.

I thought I would share (with ya'll that don't already know) about one of the more important things in my life. Surprising or not, my secret passion is racing!

Some back history -- I grew up watching racing, so it has been there my whole life. when I was little, it was mainly NASCAR... watching the major stock cars race on the TV, and occasionally going to the races themselves. I went to races in Charlotte, NC - Dover, DE - Pocano, PA. and then as I got older, it kind of fell to the waist side because we got too busy to go camping (plus, the regular NASCAR just got way too political... still is actually! ha)

About my sophomore or junior year of high school, family friends of ours started taking me to Grandview Speedway, which is a 1/3 mile dirt track which was only about 20 minutes from my house. We had another friend of the family who raced there who is the same age as I am, Johnny Favinger. and it was love at first... green flag :) and I have been going ever since, 4 years later!

Currently Reading... 1

I've decided I'm going to occasionally do a blog about what I'm currently reading! I have A LOT of books and they are really good, and I'm slowly working my way through them! I always like reading people's reviews of the different books so know if they are even worth reading! haha :) So here we go!

I'm currently reading... a series called "The Hunger Games" -- it is a 3 book series which includes "the Hunger Games", "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay"

I have already read through the first one and it was EXCELLENT! :) It is definitely a book that once you start reading it, its hard to put down! Its about a girl who lives in a time after an uprise in what used to be North America. the country is now broken into 12 districts and the main capitol. as punishment, they have an event every year called "the hunger games" which each district must contribute 2 "tributes" - one girl, one boy. the 24 tributes must battle to the death until there is only one winner left. but things are going to be a little different this year when Katniss Everdeen steps in as the tribute from District 12!

The second book, Catching Fire, is the one I am currently reading! now I'm not going to ruin the surprise of the first book - but I WILL tell you that the second one picks up right from the first one, and Katniss faces all new challenges!

The Beginning.

Well this is definitely the beginning of something new! I made a new blog because my old one, titled "Thoughts of an Airman's Girl" was mainly dedicated to me getting through the years without my boyfriend/fiance - but now that we are no longer together, I wanted to have a fresh start where I can continue on with blogging :)

Well to this day, its been over a month since things ended between Ian and I. the more time goes on, the more I realize things are now for the best! I am getting to spend more time with my friends and family, and not that I didn't when we were together... I just now realize how much my life revolved around him instead of me. But I have been concentrating on me more and that is what matters right now... no one knows what the future will hold!

My most important accomplishment right now is that I am currently down a little over 10 lbs since April and I'm starting to feel better about myself. Yes, its a slow decent but I'm working on it so that I keep it off, not just bounce back! I have started doing zumba and I continue to go to the gym (in my free time... ha!) I'm just really starting to feel like myself again and that makes me happy... along with my friends and family ;)
